Day Sixty Two

Todays message is about believing.  You know that look, when the kiddies are peeking under the tree during the Christmas season and they are so faithful that the toys they want are wrapped up with love.  The excitement is almost overwhelming as they run down to open their gifts on Christmas morning and dump out their stockings.  I love the way they believe.  There is a sparkle in their eyes!!!  Ahhh, to be a kid again.

Today, I want to feel that way too.  Today is just 62 days into my plan and  I choose to believe that my goals are being achieved, but wishing is not enough.  They must be put into play and worked hard to achieve.  I have less than $100 left to achieve my goal of a free trip to Cancun!  Sales must be in by tonight and I am almost there...so I ask, what are your goals and who is helping to support them?

Our team, the Story Stars is amazing! Full of wonderful consultants that love giving, and are a blessing to others.  These ladies have been working  hard and I am SO proud of them.  Now, that is support!

Please consider joining us in this adventure.  Creative Memories has it all in place, and believe me I did my homework.  For just $50 you too can be a STAR!  Learn more here...

Black Friday was so much fun...I took three of my kids and friend to the Mall of America for this annual day of shopping deals.  The kids bought so much stuff and got the bargains they wanted.  I love that through it all they earned a bunch of the free passes to Nickelodeon Universe, which the MOA gives two passes per $250 spent that day.  I wonder who will get those for Christmas?  *wink*

The girls loved having Mikey there to carry all of the packages too.  He said he was just there to be the muscle, but he really did like the mall food and rides too.  I think he found something to put under the tree when shopping at Sears too.  Remember that the joy of the season is about giving, and not just gifts.  We give more during the holidays, more of ourselves and more of our hearts.  Let's keep that spirit strong this season as we find time short, and schedules busy.  Share an extra smile today, on purpose!

For the digi page I am sharing today,  I used a photo of the BIG tree at the mall for the background on this page.  ANYTHING can be a background, paper or colors too.  Its easy and I can help.  Lets get you started while you can get the deals, and make the best WOW Christmas gifts ever.  These come from the heart, as they are made with your photos.  Imagine, your gifts getting those smiles that only memories can bring.  A mug created with vintage photos, a storybook telling your childhood stories.  All this and more can be yours with the Creative Memories Storybook program.  All of the memories can be organized as well with our Memory Manager.  Why not you?  Why not now?

Day Sixty

It is definitely the holiday season, and here debuting her beautiful Christmas card is our kitty, Purrfect!

Each year, after Thanksgiving we get out the holiday decorations and start to put them up.  We got out the boxes and this wreath and of course Purrfect had to sit right in the middle of all the action.  She loves this wreath, and our fakey tree.  I think it is her addiction to plastic that makes her go stir crazy hunting from behind the wreath.  She is the perfect Purrfect for us.  Ahhh, kids and pets during the holidays...what would we do without them?

It is the little things are what makes Christmas so special to me.  Watching the kids get mesmerized by lights and decorations...the smells of holiday baking and the goodness of it all.  There is an attitude of faith, and love like no other time during the year.  People let you go before them in store lines, they give to the red kettle outside of each store.  Their hearts are in the right place and it is WONDERFUL!

This week, kick off with a little heart yourself.  Who can you bless?  Who needs it but does not ask for it?  Are there people in your life that you could make a difference to?  What about people you dont even know?  Find them, and give of your heart.  You will be better off for it, and it might just make their holiday a little better.  Be a blessing to everyone you can!!

Day Fifty Nine

Crunch time!  My goals are in place, and they are coming together.  With just 90 days to prove to myself that I can make it my full time job to be a Creative Memories consultant, I am seeing the results happen.  YAY!

In the past 59 days, my Story Stars team has grown to 8.  My personal business has developed and we are near qualification to become a Creative Memories Unit.  My goal is to be promoted, earn the leadership trip to Cancun, and have our team qualified all by January 1st.  Like I said, its CRUNCH TIME!  There are 31 days left for the first 90 and I see it happening.

What are your goals?  Not just dreams, but goals that you are working toward everyday?  Who in your life is helping you to believe you can do it?  What do you need in order for them to happen?  It was VERY important to me that my goals are written down and in front of me.  I think it helps me stay focused and as they say " keep your eye on the prize."  With the holidays quickly approaching, it is important to stay on track.  What do you want to accomplish?

Here is some fun from our Thanksgiving dinner just a few days ago...

Today, I was teaching scanning through our Memory Manager program.  I have to say that showing others how to use it is SO MUCH FUN!  Imagine, getting all of your vintage photos sorted, scanned and organized in the program.  And that is just the beginning...repairing the old ones is amazing too.  If you are looking for a great holiday gift, Memory Manager can help.  Who is the "keeper of the photos" in your family?

Take a look at our Jingle Deals flyer and find out what you can do with CM this week!

Day Fifty Seven

Preparing and cooking Thanksgiving dinner...12 hours

Eating Thanksgiving dinner...12 minutes.

Hmmm...is this what you noticed?  That the entire day and perhaps days before included creating the perfect presentation of annual foods that disappeared following a free for all.  It was as if they had not eaten for months, and that someone would take away their plates if they did not eat fast enough.  I love this day.  Not only is it a great day for amazing random photos, and candid shots it is an opportunity to see the interactions seen only a few times a year.  After Thanksgiving dinner, and after everyone has had the big carb crash, when you look around what do you see?

This is just life to me.  Daily life and I want to capture all of the REAL moments that happen to my family.  The bunny ears behind Dads head in so many photos, the stories of life that come out when all around the table.  These are the times I want to remember.  These are good times!  Celebrate EVERYTHING!

Day Fifty Six

This is an exciting morning! The Story Stars welcomes three new consultants to our team this week...Welcome Dawn, Chris and Cindy!  We are glad you are here with us celebrating with your memories...

Happy day before Thanksgiving to everyone...my friend greets us each morning on Facebook with a wonderful positive message just like this.  Isn't that a great way to start your day?  Thanks Cindy!!!

Life is all about choices, and how we decide to accept our days.  If you are shaking your head right now thinking how I must be crazy and that your life has nothing good to celebrate, they I say you are not looking hard enough.  Appreciate the little things, cause sometimes that is all you are going to get.  For a while, anyway.  When you are grateful, it is easier to pass along the blessings to others.

The other day I was driving in Target parking lot looking for a spot by the cart coral.  That is where I park so I can find my car:)  Straight out of the doors, one spot next to the carts.   Anyway, when driving around the aisle, the first spot opened up right in front of the store.  WOW!  I thought, that is so cool, right there...in the front.  And then I smiled as I passed it for the next person to enjoy.

I did love having the opportunity to park there but it was just as cool to pass it along...The spot did not cost me anything to give to someone else, and it might just make someone smile like I had when I noticed it.   The holidays are a super stressful time for many people.  Tight budgets, loss of family, expectations that just cannot be met.  Here is couple of my fave tips for you this season.

1.  Ask your family what is important to them for the traditions.  My gosh, I used to think that I had to do all of these things that other families did, and when I took the time to write down what my own family wanted to do, it was so much less.  They felt valued to participate, and I loved making sure their wishes came first.  As simple as watching the burning yule log on tv while wrapping presents on Christmas Eve.

2.  Delegate!  Encourage the others in your family to help with the list of things to be done...and make sure they know how much there is to do.  Show them the lists, and get them involved...even having preschoolers fold towels helps, and makes them feel involved.

3.  Be realistic about finances.  Seriously, how important is it to get something for your hubby if your budget is tight.  Our fave tradition is to cut all of the items out of the newspaper ads that we want, and to present a big card with them pasted in.  It costs nothing, but shows that we are listening throughout the year to what they would love to have. Validation is SO important with friends and family.  Let them know they are heard.

Sharing my page print today is like looking back for me, to a fun time with girlfriends in San Antonio.  I love you guys and miss you TONS!!!

Day Fifty Five

When life gives YOU lemons, are you throwing them at passing cars in anger???  Yes, I have a point and it is probably a good one to someone.  I was just thinking how there can be so many struggles.  Today,  a good friend of mine is struggling to pay for her medication which would mean the difference in suffering or not.  She has been turned down again and again although it is in writing that her meds WILL be provided.  What a shame...there are some companies out there designed to turn down people in need.

Life definitely handed her some lemons.  This lady is amazing and helps me all the time.  She is absolutely brilliant in web design and is assisting me in building several sites.  Yes, she is for hire as well...and a bargain at 99 bucks to create!  The very idea of her sitting at home creating these sites because her lemons took away the opportunity to work in an office setting daily makes me believe in her!  AND how she operates ever day to inspire and lead with her heart.  What are you doing with your lemons?  I say, keep them and make something amazing with them.  Remember to share what you make with them...it might just inspire someone else that needs a smile today.  Give it a shot!  Work your lemons:)

Last, here is a sneak peek into a cool project just about ready to share...can you imagine what I am creating?

Day Fifty Four

Ahhh, the smells of Thanksgiving.  How much do we remember the traditions over time?  I think that the people and food stand out the most.  My grandparents always came for one of the holidays.  My Mother had just one brother and we would get Gma and Gpa for either Christmas or Thanksgiving each year.

I remember when Grandma would come, and bake.  She would fill our freezer with loaves of sweet rye bread, the kind that only she could make.  It smelled SO good and was savored as she only came one week out of the year.  She also made cinnamon rolls and some other treats, but oh that bread!!!  I sat in the kitchen watching her as she told me how to knead it, being careful not to overwork the dough or it would be tough.  Grandma did not have much to say about "life lessons" but surely did share her love of cooking and baking with me.  I miss her now, being a part of the family meals during the holidays.  She has been gone since I was pregnant with my first daughter over 21 years ago, but the memories of her linger.

Sharing that theme, that same daughter loves how my own Mother creates BEAUTIFUL jello art...yes I said art as there is no other description.  Gma blows us away with her stunning creations, as we struggle with to cut into it or not.  As soon as the first serving is out, the rest is devoured.  But nobody wants to be the first to destroy the beauty.  Today I wanted to share a  digital page of my Mom, Grandma Ginny and her Jello art.  Guess what?  Although I am now using Memory Manager to sort and organize, edit and more with my photos I simply did not find.  Where are they?  I guess I have some more work to do...my memories are worth it!  Are yours?  DOWNLOAD MEMORY MANAGER and know find your photos in seconds.

This morning I received an email from a dear friend Becky.  She shared a beautiful Thanksgiving message that I am sharing with you regarding your memories.  Please take a minute to consider her advice.

Becky Wrote:

Hey Annette,
Here's a thought to include on your blog...Remember to take pictures of the FOOD - Before & After the meal.  Even though we gather to give thanks, we do it around the dining room table while consuming massive amounts of family favorites that are served only once a year.  Families need to remember the work that goes into preparing the meal, the quality time spent with 3 generations of women huddled around the stove and always commenting about great-gramma's jello salad.  After the meal, the men of the house retire to sit in front of the TV to allow their digestive tracks to process the food while watching football.  Meanwhile the women are shuffling back into the kitchen to clean up the mess and prepare the leftovers for another food-frenzy which will start in only a few hours when the football games are over.  These pictures need to be captured and the memories preserved for the next generation, who will one day take over and keep the family tradition alive.
Becky, thank you for sharing this with  me today!  I can only  hope that many online friends take your words to heart.  I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your friends and family!

Day Fifty Three

Thanksgiving is coming and I am all about the blessings!  We have a big sheet of white paper on the end of the cupboards and we have been writing for about a month everytime someone thinks of a blessing.  Today I am sharing one of my fave photos from this fall, where my friend Bridget brought her Grandma to our Scrapbooking day at Scrappin-n-Chattin

Sometimes it is the little things that bring us back from being upset...and with the holidays coming, I definitely believe in noticing the blessings all around us.  This quick pre-designed page gives me something to print right out, and display for all to enjoy.  If you prefer, making a bunch of these and having Creative Memories print a Storybook is another great option.  Either way, please stop to smell the roses and take lots of photos!  Here is how you can get started creating right now, and remember that Tecki Tuesday will return after Thanksgiving on November 30th.  We will be introducing SBC Studio for MAC software...just what you have been waiting for!  You can do it, and I can help...

Day Fifty Two

Remember when you were in elementary school?  Can you think of your first grade teachers name?  How about the kids in your class?  What do you remember about those days now?

Well, I do remember my teacher as she was the most beautiful first grade teacher ever.  Mrs. Rasmussen was so perfect and I just loved her.  Looking back now, she helped to form my love for school and I am thankful for her kind spirit.

I was scanning photos today and thought I would make this cute page from my first grade school photo.  Remember those white frames around the edges of the wallet photos?  Good times!!!  I made it with the page prints named SCHOOL DAYS  which is super easy to download and use.  Just add your photos and type.  Voila, old days remembered !!!

Who is making a difference in your life right now?  Everyone needs someone to let them know they are ok.  We all have opportunities to bless others, and be the Mrs. Rasmussen showing how kindness can be encouraging.  Are you doing what you can?  This holiday season, find a way to go OUT of your way.    You never know how much it can mean to a person struggling through the Christmas season.  Be a blessing!

Day Fifty One

It seemed like a good idea at the time...our kids were going to be in my cousins wedding and how cute would they be in these adorable outfits.  I worked super hard creating the dresses and vest so that they would match, and look cute.  Everything was ready, they had every detail in place and even their hair turned out perfect.  Looking back, I did not spend any time preparing them for the actual walk down the aisle.  Hmmm, wasn't that the most important detail of all?   I guess the plan was not complete afterall.

Whats your plan?

When we are moving through our days, there will unexpected surprises.  That just happens, especially with kids.  Even though things are not always what we plan, remember that it is ok to take those photos and savor the moments.  Thats life, real life.  Today I look back on this photo and smile.  Why?  The story behind it is just as important as the photo.  The memories that we have are so much fun to share...are you sharing your stories?  Who in your life would like to remember with you?

I am currently looking for storytellers.  Our amazing team, The Story Stars needs you to help, and we are excited to learn more about you and your stories.  Contact me if you are out of work, love taking photos, enjoy  meeting people, or just plain want to learn more.  Here are some of the cool things about being a consultant.  What intrigues you ?  Let's get you started, just in time for the holidays.

Day Fifty

Today I am missing my daughter Sara, who will be coming home for Thanksgiving next week.  I was looking through the photos to find the perfect one to blog about and came across this one.  It makes me smile to think of her smiling...in our backyard.  She might be a few hours away, but the memory of this day  jumped right back into my life when I saw the photo of her smiling back:)

Who are you remembering?  Who are you missing?  Is it time to reach out to them and let them know how you feel?  Today, I say to Sara " I love ya kid, and cant wait to see you next week".

Please remember to take lots of photos next week when gathering with family and friends.  Here are a few tips...

Make sure to read your camera manual before next Thursday!  Knowing what you are capable of gives you the confidence to succeed.  Practice now!

Take staged AND random photos...Like Grandma making gravy in the kitchen, and the kids coloring.  These might be your faves in the end.

Ask for help...there are lots of things that I have learned by looking on the internet.  There are photo clubs, and forums with the answers  YOU NEED!  Do it now, before Thanksgiving and the gathering with family and friends.

I am available this Saturday to chat, either online or in person.  If you want to enjoy your photos a little more, lets learn together!  You could make amazing gifts to share this Christmastime.   Creative Memories has amazing help and is there for you.  As your consultant, I am here to help.  By the way, this is my full time job and I love it!  Your successes encourage me and your struggles teach me.  Lets do it together.  Find out how CM supports us all below.

Day Forty Nine

First and foremost, I would like to thank the Lord above for bringing blessings into my life recently.  The days that are bigger struggles, with people and busy times sure are easier when someone else is driving...if you know what I mean:)  So, thanks for being my chauffer God.  Its been quite a ride lately!!!

Who is driving you along the way to your goals?  Do you have someone riding shotgun, making the ride more fun?  I can tell  you how it has been for me over the years.  Road trips with the girlfriends just rock!  Looking back on a few  years ago, Lori and Heather two of my dear friends made a long trip to San Antonio with me and oh my GOSH what a ride.   We laughed, shared stories, and will look back on those times as some of the best ever.  Imagine, I was driving and Lori was shotgun...supposedly navigating.  Heather, who should  have been driving was napping when I asked which split road to take.

Well, we took the four extra hour way which was just the beginning.  Once into Dallas, I got onto the carpool lane and while white knuckling it through the cement turns ( which looked like  rat race if you ask me) an old man passed me quite easily, while smoking a cigar.  He was in the regular lanes, not the carpool...so my quick way was not so quick at all.  Well, they never let me live that down.  Thats for sure and the story is part of the trip that we will not forget.  The journey from Kansas to Texas was best shared with those special friends that supported me, even when I was struggling to find my way.

Today, are the right navigating buddies in your car?  Are you driving alone?  Do you need something to help you get to your destination?  Hard questions, I know.  Think about what t you need to accomplish your dreams and make a way to get there.  You can do it...I believe in you!

If you are looking for somewhere to belong, I encourage you to contact me and we can discuss a CM career.  It might just be the perfect map for your trip!  BE A STORY STAR and find out more at my Creative Memories website.  Just go to join the team.

Day Forty Eight

One of the reasons I love what I do, is that I get to help people make a difference with their stories, photos and memories  This past weekend at the Christian Fair I met so many great people that were willing to create cards for the troops.  Together we made over 300 holiday cards to be sent through the Blue Star Moms and I could not be more proud!  Here is a thankyou to the participants.  They weathered the snowy day and came down to the Christian Fair, and found their way to the craft area that I sponsor.

Thanks to my amazing daughter Madison for helping all weekend.  Dragging in all of those supplies and spending two days helping was very appreciated kiddo!

If you have a group that would like to help, please contact me.  I will come and bring the supplies to make cards, and even send them to the active military that needs a smile this holiday season!

Make a difference in all that  you do today.  You never know just who needs their spirits lifted, and your acts of generosity might just bless those who need it the most.  I know that time is short, and your days are busy...its ok to spend some of that time blessing others.  I promise:)

Day Forty Seven

Forty Seven, Rhymes with Heaven...and I have no idea why I said that...not yet anyway, but I know it will come to me.  Tonight I am posting late as I had a fabulous event full of amazing vendors today.  The event was called the Senior Shopping Extravaganza and was held at Calibre Chase apartments in Crystal.  I had the pleasure of bringing in some of my favorite vendors for this day and they were the most gracious women.  I truly feel blessed...here is a page print to thank them all for coming!  Josi, Kim and Myself somehow missed having photos.  I owe ya girls!!!  I am sharing a before and after version so that you can see what  a pre-designed page starts out as.  Then I adjust, add frames if I need to and change a few things.  Its still lightnening fast and I can actaully get things done!

See how cool it is?  The idea is to start with something if you are not feeling creative or are short on time.  Then add your photos and voila!  You can do it, and I will help.  GET STORYBOOK CREATOR

Now, onto Heaven.  I think it is really a personal attitude each day that determines how happy we are.  We have the choice to be happy or let the stinky stuff take us down, and choosing to enjoy life is rewarding.  Heaven is that peaceful, beautiful place of rest that will fulfill us after we are finished here on earth.  Why not grab a little bit of that now, right here and help to make it heavenly for others?  Sounds cliche?  Thats ok, I just want us all to stay in touch with our happy side!

Tecki Tuesday this week is going to be awesome as my friend Joe will be teaching us all about backing up our hard drives etc.   Joe is my computer guy!  Joe knows...and if you lose your info, he will do his best to retrieve it at a great price.  It is good to have people in your life that can help in a crisis...

Day Forty Six

GOOD MORNING!  I am just flying high today as this weekend I was blessed to be a part of the Christian Fair at the River Center in St. Paul, MN.  I just love this event, where I sponsor the craft area and we make as many cards for soldiers as we can.  Our goal was 500 this year and with the snowfall, which brought in many less people, we were still able to complete 300 cards to be sent this holiday season!  It's a total God thing...Thank you to Rich and Lana for putting together this amazing show, and to all of the WONDEFUL volunteers who make it all happen...

So, today I am sharing the first page of the Christian Fair photos I have to create with.  My gosh, the faces of the Fair just rocked my world this weekend.  Here is a pre-designed page with some of the smiles.

I feel like today is the new start of something and I am SO excited about it...it has been 7 years since a bad accident that changed my life. Just like 7 years of bad luck following breaking a mirror, it feels like the curse is finally lifted.  I am half way through the first 90 days in my plan with CM.  With all of the wonderful people I met this weekend, it is no wonder I am feeling blessed today.

Today is a day to be grateful.  No matter how small your blessings are, celebrate them.  My gosh, it did not cost a thing for me to create this digital page that I will look back on for years to come.  Celebrate the good things by keeping them in front of you.  Smiles are contagious!

Day Forty Four

SNOWY SATURDAY GREETINGS from Minneapolis/St. Paul.  My kids and I will be down at the River Center today at the Christian Fair.  Come on down and visit us, and make a card for the troops!  I am sponsoring the craft area to the left of the family stage.  Please help us make out goal of 500 cards to send this holiday season!

Set your goals today, and let others know what they are!  You can even write them down and post them where you see it often.  Just do it...if you don't make goals, then how do you keep it front of you and achieve them?  I am excited about our goal today.  Spend the day at this awesome FREE family event.

Day Forty Three

I asked Adam today what my topic should be for this post...he said TACOS...Ok, so today we are chatting about tacos.  I hope you like the post:)

When we make tacos here at the Brisse house, we keep it pretty simple.  Shells, seasoned meat, cheese, lettuce, sour cream and salsa.  Sometimes we add other things like onions or even peppers...but most of the time we enjoy the basics.  Favorite ingredients that we just love!

Go to any restaurant these days and order a taco salad...what do you get?  TONS of things thrown in and sometimes it does not make the best tasting meal.  Why?  You cant taste the few favorites by themselves, it just cant happen.  Life is like that too...sometimes the wrong people can overcomplicate things and then you cant really enjoy them.  Does this sound  familiar?

Think about your week, now that it is Friday.  Did it seem like it flew by?  Was the week so busy that it was hard to enjoy?  Were the people in your life there to simplify or complicate your life?  It is good to take a hard look at that sometimes and clean out the clutter, if you know what I mean.

This weekend, how about finding a few things that are the simpler things in life, and give it a try?  Grab  the kids and head down to the Christian Fair tonight and tomorrow..you can stop by my booth and make a card for the soldiers protecting our America.  We aim to create 500 cards to send this holiday season...make a card, and make a difference.  It really is simple.

Adam, I say to you that life is like a taco.  Keep your favorite people and to-do list simple and full of things you love.  I love you kiddo...Thanks for the idea today!

Day Forty Two

Todays Quote:

"It's easy to make a buck.  it's a lot  harder to make a difference."
---Tom Brokaw---

I started out with the quote, instead of wrapping up with it.  Why?  I think sometimes we need to start with direction.  Sure you can stumble through the day checking things off your to-do list.  But what if we started each day with a purpose?  What if we had the intention to make a difference from the moment we got up each morning?

Today in traffic there might be someone pushing their way ahead and acting reckless...what  harm could it do to be nice and let them in, just because you can?  What would it do to their day?  Probably nothing, but it could mean something to you.  Start today with the intention of making a difference...especially to those that probably do not deserve it.  At least not at that moment anyway.

Make a difference...this weekend I am sponsoring the creative area at the Christian Fair where we are aiming to create 500 card for the soldiers fighting for our country.   All you have to do is come, and write a message to a soldier.  If you can come down, please stop by and make a difference.  Send the message that you care to the troops this holiday season!  I am working with the Blue Star Moms and we have several areas to send these thoughtful cards to.  Your little creation could make a huge difference to someone away from their family and friends this Christmas.  Just look for me and the Creative Memories booth.  Thank you!

Day Forty One

Wednesday mornings are super busy with my networking group starting before 8am, and appointments, calls and prep for the Christian Fair this weekend...Dont get me wrong, I love to be busy and look for more to add to my lists daily.  Well, driving along I noticed that the gas light in my van has been on for about 30 miles.  That might be pushing it a bit, so I knew it was time to fill up again...

Just like cars, people need to refuel when running low too.  Just think about all of the things you do for others, and how many times life can be thankless...that can be tough sometimes.  Its good to know what you need, and how to refuel those needs.  Being a great friend, Mom, Dad, worker, whichever we are takes energy...what do you need to add to your life in order to feel full?

It is so funny to me how my kids just crashed wherever they were as babies.  In the arms of caring family, in the carseat or just plain on the floor.  This photo is one of my faves as Adam just curled up and fell asleep...

I think that sometimes we have too much going on.  We are all working so hard to make it that we can miss whats right in front of us!  People, beauty, blessings.  They are all important things in our lives.  Give yourself permission to take a break and refuel today.

Day Forty

Forty days and forty nights with Creative Memories on the brain, and guess what?  I still feel lucky to have this job and do it my way!  I must like to be in charge, do you think?  :)

So, last night after a fabulous dinner featuring tater-tot hot dish I simply fell asleep.  The rest of the family were sorting photos which is our project right now...and there are lots of them!  After a good 12 hours asleep I got up today feeling like I was 6 hours behind instead of feeling like I had a night off.  There it was, in a nice PC stone casserole dish looking as sad as can be.  Dinner was still on the stove.  Why?  Nobody put away the leftovers last night and it makes me crazy!  Why is it that with three kids  home, nobody thought it would be a good idea to save dinner?  Ok, usually my dinners do not get the same respect as a tater tot hot dish night, but that would be understandable.   Everyone loves this dinner and the leftovers.

I am thinking about this today, knowing that it was wasted and that if I had done it myself it would be fine.  I love that we share taking care of things, like our family sorting photo project.  But how many times are things left up to me?

This leads into my second thought of the morning.  Who is going to do the things you cant?  If there are stories to be shared, photos to be organized, and memories to be enjoyed are you going to pass this along to someone else?  A dear friend of mine told me the story of how her sister scrapbooked when dying from cancer.  She spent each day looking forward to creating just one more page...that was her legacy and she was not leaving until she could get as much done as she could.  Face it, we are not all living forever.  There are things that will be cherished long after we are gone.  When I see my kids and hubby sorting through the photos, I am so glad that I took the time to take them, and keep them all.  My family loves them, laughing and passing them around.  Its hard to do that when all of the photos are on your computer, flash drives, CD and camera cards.  Kids today are not enjoying photos in the same ways that we did.  Unless they are printed and the stories shared.

Please, leave a legacy for your family.  Share your memories, print your photos and know that you did the best that you could.  It will mean more to them than money in the bank or the title to a ten year old car.  Grab your camera today, they will thank you for it later!

Watch This Video and find out how...

Day Thirty Nine

Mondays...the start of a fresh week and what will I do with it?

It appears that my days are super full, but not always for the best.  Have you ever made a list of things to do and found that there is not enough time in the day?  We all  have the same amount of hours everyday.  Why do some of us run out?  Besides the fact that I am probably a little ADD, I just keep adding things to the lists in life.  Being busy is good, and I love that part but I also want to be a success in what I work on.  Sooo....

Today its time to take a good look at what I do everyday, and see what can be done by someone else.  In addition, there are things that I think have to be done and clearly they are not a good use of my time.  Time is something we all wish we had more of, but looking at the day, if we did have more of it we would probably waste even more of it.  Too wordy?  Yep...sorry:)

Whats important to me?  People, and their stories.  They have amazing lives and I am so excited to meet with them.  I think today, in order to squeeze as many in this week as I can, I will be writing in my calendar scheduled times for them.   A few hours for a friend, customer, potential recruit will now be scheduled so that I can keep on track.  Time flies when you are having fun, and I definitely love what I do!

Whats on your mind as I bring up time shortages?  Did you know that Christmas is just about 50 days away?  How does that make you feel?  Stressed, happy, excited?  Take a good look at your own days, and find some time to do something that you love to do.  I guarantee it will be better than looking back at a busy life that was unfulfilling...

Save time.  Spend time, and live fully in the time you have.  Time flies anyway, why not jump on and enjoy the ride???

I encourage you to take a look today at the Memory Manager and Storybook Creator downloads.  The information can be read through quickly.  You can save time, energy and more.  I love it, and you can too.  Think of all the time you waste looking for photos that are lost in your boxes, or hard drive unorganized.  Do something for you today...maybe this is the gift that you need to put a little time back in your life:)

Day Thirty Eight

Get it done...its easy to say but hard when you dont have the right tools in place.  Today is all about you.  Lets see if I can provide a solution for you and your projects/photos/gifts etc.

Home based businesses are growing at a tremendous rate.  Did you know that most of the home based businesses are run by women?  Direct sales is a huge percentage of those businesses where women are finding ways to work from home.  This is great for families, and for people who find it hard to leave for a regular 40 hour work week.  Commuting takes time, clothes and day care take money.  Yes, you still need clothes if you work from home, but business attire can be expensive.  Lets keep costs under control.

Working from home, I understand that there is a need for websites, blogs, and marketing through social sites such as Facebook and Twitter.  I hear from women and many times the idea of learning all of these things just takes the fun out of working from home.  I have some solutions for you that could benefit your job.

Did you know that Creative Memories provides income for over 10,000 consultants, and that they decide when they work?  Join and find out how you can get this too.

Would it surprise you to know that blogs like mine take about an hour to create, and are free through many companies?  I would be happy to help you get started...And if you would like a  professional website, I have friends that build them for just $99.  Now that is being connected!

Now, what can you do with Creative Memories Storybook Creator?  SBC is amazing to me, and I use it everyday.  SBC helps me to work on my own family photos with digital papers and embellishments.  I cant say enough how it is my desktop publishing software, personal photo fun center, scrapbook software, and now today it is my website builder.  Thats right, today I am working on my friend Kathie's website.  I am actually creating her site with the help of SBC.  Here is an example:

This is a calendar that will be added to a web page.  To add info to calendar cells just click on them and type.  Its that simple.  I am SO excited for her to see the calendar pages this morning that I am headed over early.  The photo behind the calendar is one of her store, and how cool is that to showcase her own place???

Seriously, I can tell you again and again how easy it is to do this.  Are you ready to learn?  SBC can be used in everyday life.  Promote your business, build your business, enjoy your promotional items again and personalize them.  And by the way, remember that I am here to help.

Day Thirty Seven

Instruction manuals...what are they for anyway?  I did not get one when I had kids, or when I got married, yet one comes with just about everything I buy now.  Go figure...

Sometimes these manuals are long and I just cant sit down to read the whole thing.  Seriously, why would I do that?  I can skim right through for what I need, and deal with it them.  What would I gain to learn the entire thing besides a great big migraine???

I admit it, I am a manual hater.  There is too much information, and it is written in a way I struggle to understand.  However, I have decided that I still need to learn about the items that come with these manuals.  Why buy these things if we are not going to use them to their full capacity?   For example, my camera which I adore.  ( Thanks Hannah!)  The camera is amazing, and takes beautiful photographs.  I love it and am so excited to have it...but learn about it?  Thats tough.  I did take a beginners class at National Camera Exchange which I totally recommend.  Their presentation of how my style of camera works was entertaining, and educational in a way that spoke directly to me as a novice.  I guess learning about it was not that bad, and I have actually decided to open the manual this weekend while the fam is out hunting.

Why do we resist learning new things?  I think its because this world is getting more instantaneous and we are simply resisting things that take time.  Think about this though...if we read the manuals in life and took the advice of the professionals a little more often, it could actually make our lives better in the long run.

Now, where is this going?  Yesterday I met with a friend of 17 years.  She has tons of digital and scanned photos on her computer.  I asked her what was in the folders and she had no idea.  She was frustrated with the system she has and just ignores it.  That does not work for her though, as ignoring makes it worse.   She was definitely receptive to a new way.  But resistant to learn about anything tecki.  Actually, when I got to her home she rolled her eyes and said " ok, show me what  youve got."

I showed her the Creative Memories Memory Manager and Storybook Creator programs.  And guess what???  She is actually excited and believes she can use it to organize her photos, and do something with them.  If Carol can do it, you can too!  And by the way, remember that it comes with a full service consultant to help along the way at no extra cost.

Why not try it out, just start with Memory Manager and get your photos organized so you can find them.  Find that amazing photo for the holiday photo card you want to send this year.  Its early, and you have time.

GET MEMORY MANAGER HERE

The download is just $39.95 and it will make such a difference in the way you enjoy your photos.

Today, my challenge is to scan and organize 500 photos.  Think I can do it??  I will share my progress along the day on twitter, so follow me and I will update you!  Just click on the link to the right and see what I can get done with CM Memory Manager!

Day Thirty Six

Happy Birthday to Adam, my son...ok, the birthday was last month but I was in a birthday kinda mood today.  For us, birthdays are pretty much a summertime event, where family gets together and celebrates one person.  Thats pretty cool to me.  Our birthdays are every month from June through October, so that means lots of barbecues and outside bonfires...Here is a page print I whipped out this morning showing Adams cake.  Why???  My Mother in law always insisted we "get a picture of the cake".  That is a huge tradition to us here, and we always yell out those words when there is a celebration.

My Mother-in-law has been in heaven for years now, but those words ring true to us time and time again.  Isnt it funny how those things stick with you?  Our kids will remember Grandma Gail and think of her each time a cake is brought out.

Traditions are important and help to secure us in ways that others might not understand.  In the fall, I begin to work on a blessings book for the family.  We bring it out at Thanksgiving and the whole family writes in their blessings.  A few weeks ago we put a posterboard in the kitchen so that we could all start thinking of the blessings we feel grateful for.  Some seem silly, but they are blessings.  I will use some in the book for Thanksgiving including :  kitty, mud and trucks, tacos, showers, and vacation.  Also included will be those that are a bit more serious such as the use of arms and legs.  Seeing these blessings in front of you each day can help a grateful heart develop.  Looking back, the blessings books we have from each year, and bring out to share each Thanksgiving are a reminder of the important things in life.

Take lots of photos, and print them!  Use Storybook Creator to make some memories that you can hold in your hands.  Remember the blessings that are right in front of you when the days seem so hard.  Celebrate!

Get started on your projects now.  Class of 2011, do you want to slap photos onto a poster board at the last minute or make amazing prints, invitations, announcemenets and slideshows?  You can do it, I will help!

Day Thirty Five

Disasters.  They mean different things to different people, and there are definitely many kinds of them.   There are severe life changing disasters such as Hurricane Katrina, and there are intense little disasters like when a huge drink spills all over a table full of amazing photos.  The thing that is the same is that when they strike, it takes your breath away and there is usually some panic.  Your disasters are none the less a gasp in life, even if for a short time.  What can you do about them?  Well, its ok to gasp. I'm just saying...

It doesn't really matter if the disasters in your life are small, they are your disasters.  If they take your breath away and  you have a hard time coping, thats ok.  I hear all the time how someone had a difficult day, and that a friend or family member told them to get over it.  Sometimes that is more of a challenge than they are ready to take on.  Sometimes they need a friend to just say yes, that is a rotten deal.  People need validation in their lives in order to move on.  Sometimes, they just need to be heard.  Are you screaming on the inside, but nobody is listening?  Is your voice letting others know what you need?  What do you need in your life in order to have the strength to stick up for yourself?  Who is listening to you?

I have to say that with the holidays coming, it can be overwhelming to have expectations for the perfect Thanksgiving dinner, and a family Christmas that is magazine cover beautiful.  Guess what?  There are mini disasters at my home too.  Sometimes the kids are yelling, dinner is burned and its a scramble to clean house when the guests are in the driveway. Use your voice and ask for help...let everyone know what you need in order for things to be a little more smooth.  Everyone can be stressed, and have things pop up that could ruin our days...disasters included, that's real life for the Brissebunch, and I wouldn't have it any other way:)

Day Thirty Four

Ok, I guess I am excited to share with you today.  This is a photo calendar page of our kitty, Purr-fect.  Yes, that is her name and I am just loving this cat.  She is the perfect pet for our family!!!  She can walk by us and put a smile on our faces.  Pets can be such a wonderful addition to your home!  Do you have a pet photo to share?  Send it to me and I will put together a page featuring your pet.

Sometimes it is really important to look closely at your life and find the little things that bring you joy. Life can hand you some struggles every day.  When you find  Our kitty is one of those things.  In fact, there are many photos of her.  She is one of our favorite subjects to shoot photos of.    Imagine, life without those little joy things. What would it be like without a little smile each day?  Hard to imagine???  Some days it seems there is no joy.  Those are the hard days, and we all have them.

Are you feeling like those smiles are few and far between?  Just look at your photos, and remember babies, cute pets, and fun gatherings with family and friends.  Get those photos out and enjoy them again!  If you dont have them, look around online for photos of things that make you smile.  It is worth the time to do so!

Day Thirty Three

If I were to pick one cool thing about my job that  I love today, it is this...I work where I am!  Today was SO cool, as I was able to share with several new people just how amazing it is to create with Creative Memories, right in my own home!

This morning started out really great, with my friend Janet rolling up to bring me a smoothie, just because she is so sweet.  Janet and I were able to attend a fun event for the Blue Star Moms just two weeks ago.  Well, one of these awesome Moms was scheduled to come over and buy some old craft items I had.  She came this morning and we started to share about several things, including photos and Creative Memories.  At the end of a very nice conversation, this new friend is going to  help us find soldiers for the cards we are making at the Christian Fair.  How cool is that?  Thanks Sue!!!

Next, it was time for my new life insurance med test and the sweetest lady came over this afternoon.  We were chatting, and it turns out she has kids and loves to scrapbook.  But, she does not have time to do her traditional books right now.  I got to tell her about digital and it looks like something that could work for her!

Creative Memories has photo solutions.  They really do, and I am happy to help you get going with them.  Why not you?  Why not today?  At least get started thinking about it...visit us tonight at Tecki Tuesday where we provide training, tips and teckniques.  Photos and Memories are better when revisited.  Find a way and make it a priority.  You tell your stories in a way that nobody else can...Big stories, little snippets.  Whatever in your life that you want to share...

This is one of my fave photos put into a predesigned page. A shredded wheat smile, just because.  I hope it makes you smile today!

Day Thirty Two

Where does the time go?  Over the weekend several things happened.  First, the kiddies are growing up and even our youngest Madison decided that at 12, she would not be dressing up for Halloween and trick or treating.  That was weird enough, but then I was scanning some old photos ( and backing them up) when I came across this cute one of Mikey and Sara about 15 years ago.  Seriously, 15 years???  Soon, these photos will be keeping me company, and my grandkids will be learning about their parents through them.

We were traveling to Michigan just about every year just like I did as a kid.  The kids were 6, 4, and 2 and Sara was really into movies and plays. The fave was The Little Rascals movie.  Sara totally took on the role of Darla and Mikey played any part that his sister directed him to.  The week was filled with clips from the movie, including one where 4 year old Sara sat on 2 year old Mikey's knee and they both sung to eachother.

The thing I remember is taking all of those photos.  Now, 15 years later I am SO excited to put those photos back in place.  In our memories where we can all enjoy them again.  The stories are waiting to be retold!!!

This is a pre-designed page, so I just added the words where it said " click here to add text".  Can you do it?  Sure, but will you do it?  Not sure...that part is up to you.  There is still a lot of time left to make some amazing projects, books, scrapbooks etc for the holidays.  But dont stop there, do it for the memories.  Its not just about making the WOW gifts, its about adding something to your life that will be treasured by all.

You can do it, I know you can...and I am here to  help you along the way.  Contact me and lets get sharing!
